Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Issued at 9:54am on Saturday 21 July 2018

Flood Warning Number: 7
Minor flooding is occurring in the lower Derwent River below Meadowbank Dam and is expected to continue during Saturday.
No further flooding is expected around New Norfolk on Saturday.
River levels in many River Derwent tributaries have peaked and will continue to recede during Saturday.
Strong and dangerous flows will remain a hazard in the Derwent catchment over the next few days.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

River levels in the upper River Derwent and its tributaries have peaked and will continue receding during Saturday.

River Ouse:

No further flooding is expected in the River Ouse.

River Clyde:

No further flooding is expected in the River Clyde.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

River levels are easing in the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam.

Tyenna River:

River levels are easing in the Tyenna River.

Styx River:

No further flooding is expected along the Styx River at Bruces Bridge.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 5.60 metres around 06:30 pm Thursday 19 July. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to remain around the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Saturday.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 3.10 metres and steady. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains will remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Saturday.

River Derwent around New Norfolk:

No further flooding is expected along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk will remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Saturday.
