Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent and the River Ouse

Minor flooding is expected to develop along the lower Derwent River below Meadowbank Dam during Thursday evening, and may extend downstream to Macquarie Plains and New Norfolk overnight or early Friday morning. Minor flooding is occurring along the River Ouse.
Strong river rises are occurring in many River Derwent tributaries, including the River Clyde, Nive, Florentine, Tyenna, Styx and Plenty rivers.
Strong and dangerous flows will remain a hazard in the Derwent catchment over the next few days.
River Derwent above River Ouse:
Strong river rises are occurring in the upper River Derwent and its tributaries during Thursday.
Minor flooding is occurring along the River Ouse.The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 2.37 metres and steady around the minor flood level (2.40 m)
No water level measurements are available for the River Ouse at Ouse. A minor peak (around 4.0 m) is expected in the River Ouse at Ouse Thursday afternoon.
Strong river rises are expected along the River Clyde during Thursday and Friday.
River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:
Strong river rises are expected in the middle reaches of the River Derwent during Thursday.
Strong river rises are occurring in the Tyenna River during Thursday.
The Styx River at Bruces Bridge exceeded the minor flood level (2.0 m) early Thursday morning.
River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:
Minor flooding is expected along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.10 m) Thursday evening. The river level may peak between 5.00 and 5.50 metres overnight Thursday into Friday.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Thursday into Friday.
River Derwent around New Norfolk:
Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.The River Derwent at New Norfolk may reach the minor flood level (2.00 m) early Friday morning.
