Help wanted with bushfire study

Planning for disaster

Do you live in a high bushfire risk area? Are you financially protected in the event of a natural disaster? Researchers at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) are asking these questions as part of a national research project, "When Disaster Strikes: Geographies of house and contents insurance."

If you are a homeowner in a high bushfire prone area, we would very much like to talk to you. The aim of the research is to deliver important information for residents in high bushfire risk areas, and assist in bushfire preparedness and recovery, including the reduction of the personal, social and financial impacts of fires.

UTAS researchers are seeking to determine what motivates individuals to live in areas of high bushfire risk, and what influences their choices about how they protect themselves against financial loss in the event of a natural disaster.

Your contribution will provide us with a greater understanding of the personal experiences and factors informing householder decision making in high risk bushfire areas.
