Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Minor flooding may develop in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam during Monday. Flooding is not expected to extend downstream to New Norfolk. River rises are currently being observed along the River Derwent.
In the 24 hours to 9 am Monday, rainfall totals about the upper Derwent catchment were generally less than 5mm. A further 10 to 20 mm is forecast for this area again during Monday, with higher totals possible about elevated areas.
Strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.
River Derwent above River Ouse:
River rises have occurred in the upper reaches of the River Derwent above River Ouse. Lake King William continues to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.
River levels in the River Ouse are expected to remain below minor flood levels during Monday.
River levels in the River Clyde are expected to remain below minor flood levels during Monday.
River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:
River rises are continuing in the middle reaches of the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam.
River levels will start to ease in the Tyenna River during Monday.
River levels are now easing in the Styx River during Monday.
River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:
Minor flooding may develop along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 3.51 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam may reach the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Monday.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 2.32 metres and steady. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Monday.
River Derwent around New Norfolk:
Minor flooding is not expected to extend downstream to New Norfolk during Monday.The River Derwent at New Norfolk is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Monday.
