Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number: 3

Minor flooding has eased in the lower reaches of the River Derwent during Wednesday evening. Flooding is not expected to extend downstream to New Norfolk.

Lake King William continues to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.

In the 24 hours to 9AM Thursday, rainfall totals up to 17 mm was reported about the Derwent catchment, mainly about the upper reaches. No rain is expected Thursday. The next significant rainfall (10 to 25 mm) is expected Sunday.

Strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

Lake King William continues to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

High river levels will continue in the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam Thursday.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

No further flooding is expected in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 3.84 metres and falling.

The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 2.70 metres and falling.

River Derwent around New Norfolk:

No further flooding is expected in the River Derwent around New Norfolk.

The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 1.02 metres and falling.
