Final flood update for Derwent system

Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Issued at 9:34 am EDT on Saturday 8 October 2016

Flood Warning Number: 18
Minor flooding is no longer occurring in the Derwent River.
Lake King William continues to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.
No significant rainfall has been reported about the catchment during to 9am Saturday and no rainfall is expected during Saturday. The next significant rainfall is forecast for Sunday.
Strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

High river levels continue in the upper reaches of the Derwent catchment. Most storages within the Derwent system are at high levels.


River Ouse:

River levels in the River Ouse will continue to ease during Saturday
The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.35 metres and steady.

River Clyde:

River levels in the River Clyde will continue to ease during Saturday
The River Clyde at Bothwell is currently at 1.30 metres and falling.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

River levels are now easing slowly in the middle reaches of the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam.


Tyenna River:

River levels will continue easing along the Tyenna River during Saturday.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Water levels along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam are now below the minor flood levels.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 5.76 metres around 08:30 am Thursday 06 October and is currently at 4.04 metres and steady.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains peaked at 4.18 metres around 3:34 pm Thursday 6 October and is currently at 2.95 metres and steady.

River Derwent around New Norfolk:

River levels are easing along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 1.08 metres and steady.
