Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

High levels of minor flooding are likely to develop in the lower reaches of the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam during Friday evening. Minor flooding may develop throughout the River Ouse in response to heavy rainfall about the north of the State. River rises are likely in most other tributaries during Friday.
Widespread rainfall totals of 10 to 15 mm have been observed about the Derwent catchment in the 12 hours to 9AM Friday. As much as 13 mm has been recorded between 9AM and 3 PM Friday. Further rainfall of 5 to 10mm is possible for the remainder of Friday.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment during the weekend.
River Derwent above River Ouse:
River rises have occurred in the upper reaches of the River Derwent during Friday.
Minor flooding may occur along the River Ouse.The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.58 metres and rising. The River Ouse at Ashton may exceed the minor flood level (2.40 m) early Friday evening.
River rises may occur in the Clyde River, with river levels expected to remain below minor flood levels.
River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:
Minor flooding may develop in the middle reaches of the River Derwent during Friday evening.
River rises are possible in the Tyenna River during Friday.
River rises have been recorded in the Styx River during Friday.
River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:
High levels of minor flooding are expected along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 2.81 metres and rising. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.10 m) early Friday evening.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 1.85 metres and rising. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Saturday morning.
River Derwent around New Norfolk:
Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.The River Derwent at New Norfolk may exceed the minor flood level (2.00 m) late Saturday morning.
