Minor flooding to continue overnight

Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number: 5

Minor flooding is now occurring in the lower reaches of the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam. High stream levels are expected to continue in other tributaries overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Since 9AM Saturday rainfall totals of less than 10 mm have been recorded in the Derwent River catchment. Further rainfall of 5 to 10mm is possible for the remainder of Saturday.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment during the weekend.


River Derwent above River Ouse:

High stream levels to continue in the upper reaches of the River Derwent overnight Saturday into Sunday.


River Ouse:

Stream levels are falling along the River Ouse.
The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.79 metres (minor flood level 2.4 metres) and falling.


River Clyde:

River rises may occur in the downstream sections of the Clyde River, with river levels expected to remain below minor flood levels.


River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

High stream levels are expected to continue in the middle reaches of the River Derwent overnight Saturday into Sunday.


Styx River:

Stream levels have peaked in the Styx River.


River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 4.51 metres around 01:00 pm Saturday 23 July and is currently at 4.39 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to remain around the minor flood level (4.10 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 2.70 metres and steady. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is likely to peak below the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.


River Derwent around New Norfolk:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 1.30 metres and steady. The River Derwent at New Norfolk may reach the minor flood level (2.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.
