How's the weather?

The view up Lower Swamp Rd at Lachlan this morning.
PARTS of the Derwent Valley were looking even more spectacular than usual this morning, covered in either a dusting or a blanket of snow depending on location and elevation.

It was a fitting reward after a night of wild weather that left hundreds of homes without power for several hours.

Some 1588 properties at New Norfolk, Lawitta, Magra and Black Hills were in a blackout for about two hours until 11.30pm. Not long after supply was restored to those areas, nearly 200 homes at Glenfern, Hayes, Moogara, Mt Lloyd, New Norfolk, Plenty and Uxbridge were offline due to the severe weather conditions.

Lachlan looking lovely this morning.
Tonight another sheep grazier's warning is in place in the Upper Derwent Valley due to cold temperatures, showers and strong westerly winds.

A road weather alert for icy and snow covered roads is also in effect tonight.

A dusting of snow in the hills above New Norfolk.
