Final update: minor flooding eases

Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Issued at 8:42 am on Sunday 24 July 2016
Flood Warning Number: 6

Minor flooding has eased in the lower reaches of the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam. River levels are expected to continue easing during Sunday.
Widespread snow fell to low levels about the Derwent catchment during Saturday. This snow is expected to maintain high river levels in most tributaries as it melts over the coming days.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment into Monday.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

River levels will ease in the upper Derwent during Sunday, with snow melt to maintain high river levels into Monday.


River Ouse:

No further flooding is expected in the River Ouse.
The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.62 metres and steady.

River Clyde:

No further flooding is expected in the River Clyde.
The River Clyde at Bothwell is currently at 1.10 metres and steady.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

River levels will ease in the River Derwent during Sunday, with snow melt to maintain high river levels into Monday.

Tyenna River:

No further flooding is expected in the Tyenna River.

Styx River:

No further flooding is expected in the Styx River.


River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

No further flooding is expected in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 4.51 metres around 01:00 pm Saturday 23 July and is currently at 3.86 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to remain around the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Sunday.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 2.82 metres and falling.

River Derwent around New Norfolk:

No further flooding is expected in the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 0.65 metres and rising.
