Derwent flood warning now moderate

Moderate Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number: 9

Minor to moderate flooding will continue in the Derwent below Meadowbank dam, and in the Lower River Derwent.

Moderate flooding will continue in the River Ouse at Ashton and Ouse township during Tuesday.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

Small river rises are still occurring in the upper reaches of the River Derwent.

River Ouse:

Moderate flooding is occurring along the River Ouse. Currently there is no information available from the river gauges at Ashton or Ouse.

The River Ouse at Ashton is likely to have peaked between 5.60 and 6.00 metres late Monday evening.

River Clyde:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Clyde.

The River Clyde at Bothwell peaked at 2.00 metres around 06:16 am Tuesday 07 June and is currently at 1.83 metres and falling slowly.

The River Clyde at Hamilton may exceed the minor flood level (2.40 m) Tuesday afternoon.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

River rises are occurring in the middle reaches of the River Derwent.

Tyenna River:

The Tyenna River is slowly falling.

Styx River:

Minor flooding is occurring along the Styx River. At Bruces Bridge the Styx River is above the minor flood level (2.00m) and falling.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Moderate flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 6.46 metres and rising slowly, after an earlier peak around 7.40 metres. Further rises are expected, with the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam likely to peak between 6.50 and 6.80 metres late Tuesday morning.

The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 5.32 metres and steady. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is likely to remain around 5.30 metres Tuesday morning.

River Derwent around New Norfolk:

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.

The River Derwent at New Norfolk is likely to remain around the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Tuesday.
