Junior cricket

Round 7

UNDER 13: Gretna defeated St Anne's at Cadbury No 2. Gretna batted first and made 5/107 from 20 overs. Ryan Emery continued his good form with 33 runs (four 4s) before retiring. The consistent Jack Stevenson made 30 runs (five 4s) before retiring, Grant Booth made 7, and Tristian Carmichael was 6no. St Anne's replied with 8/38 from 14.2 overs. In the bowling Jack Hills stole the show with 2/0 (1.2 overs); Ryan Emery completed a fine double with 3/1 (2 overs); Jack Stevenson 1/2 (2 overs) and two catches; Blake Mayne 1/8 (2 overs) and Jake Ransley 1/8 (2 overs). Gretna wicket keeper Grant Booth kept well and this showed with an excellent stumping off the bowling of Jack Hills. Well done Grant. UNDER 15: Gretna 6 for 252 off 40 overs defeated Tas Uni Gold 9 for 61 off 30.2 overs at Queens Walk. Gretna batting: Daniel Browning 58no (five 4s, six 6s), Jake Campbell 41 (six 4s, one 6), Zac Crosswell 35 (seven 4s), Nick Wakefield 21 (two 4s). Reece Williams 19 (two 4s), Nathan Wakefield 14 (two 4s). Gretna bowling: Josh Farrow 3-0 (4), Nathan Eyles 2-7 (4), Jamie Davidson 1-1 (2), Josh Whitford-Marriott 1-9 (4), Nathan Wakefield 1-12 (2), Zac Crosswell 1-0 (0.2). Gretna batsman Jake Campbell batted very well. Opening for the first time, he made an excellent 41 runs and his shot selection was a pleasure to watch as was the bowling of Josh Farrow who took 3 for 0. Brodie Gleeson did a great job as wicket keeper for the first time, sharing the duties with Zac Crosswell who has done a great job so far this season. New Norfolk and Molesworth results not received.
